Avatar's Plot
Avatar is a spin off from the original Avatar book based released in 1994.
2009 Light storm Entertainment, created one of the most visually fulfilling
films of the century. Directed by James Cameron and his team arguable remastered
a sensational novel into a magically inspired motion picture. The films genre can be
categorized as an fantasy/science fiction film, although I would also add action to it. The film is also symbolizes humanity's ability to do right or wrong when faced with adversity.
In the year 2154 earths inhabitants have subsequently used all of the planets natural resources.
Depleted resources causes scientist and a money possessed colonel to search for alternative
resource. Pandora is a forest like moon colorful, beautiful and full of life, where the unique mineral
is protected by the native people called Na'vi.
The scientist use Na'vi like human hybrids to blend in and explore the vast lands.
The subverts of genre is identified when we uncover the truth about the Na'vi and the humans.
Na'vi homeland people believe they are all connected through nature and worship a mother
goddess called "Eywa". The secret mineral is purposely located in the heart of the tribe and the humans will stop at nothing the get what they want; peacefully or by brute strength. In class we discussed to connection to England intruding on native american lands, but I do not fully agree.
Avatar in my own opinion is a great movie, magically directed and perfectly established
to show a brand new world that has never be seen. The visual created in this movie was
phenomenal, creating a world connected to its ecosystem alien like creatures that
believe in a much larger picture than just their individual lives.
Although the plot is based on an action based theme focused on self discovering, there
is much more to understand. The underlining story I believe is based on human greed
and destruction symbolizing the importance of family and believing in a higher power.
